Global warming is global issue that be faced by countries include Indonesia. It is happened as a result of enhancement in the average temperature of the earth’s near surface air and oceans since the mid-20th century. An increase in global temperature will cause sea levels to rise and will change the amount and pattern of precipitation. It is not only has impact on environment, but also on economic sectors. According to United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), climate change will make economic sectors likely to face difficulties problems, include banks, agriculture, transports and others. Therefore, Protocol Kyoto is made. It is an international treaty about global warming. National governments that sign and ratify this protocol have commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Protocol now covers more than 160 countries and over 55 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. As of June 2009, only the United States, historically the world's largest emitter of greenhouse gases, has refused to ratify the treaty. What’s about you, as the biologist and environment expert?
